More than just a fashion brand, Awaytomars is an online clothing community where ideas come from everyone around the world. People submit their sketches to the Awaytomars team, who then works with skilled professionals to create prototypes and crowdfunds production for the final products. The concept came from Alfredo Orobio, a student from the University of Lisbon who realized all people have creative fashion ideas, but lack the platform to expand them.
Awaytomars presented its fifth co-created collection for Fall/Winter 2017/18 during ModaLisboa (Lisbon Fashion Week). Clean pieces were the perfect canvas for an artistic intervention at the beginning of the show by the creators involved. The finished pieces were then presented on the runway.
